Character Profile - Deramas

Name: Deramas
Age: Unknown
Race: Demon
Allegiance: Ambiguously Evil
Allied with: Unknown.
Family:
- Abaddon (Son)
- Malia (Daughter)
Appearance:
Deramas is a dark gray skinned demon with gray-white hair and yellow eyes. Interestingly, he lacks the horns on his head which his children have, but it is assumed he has lost them during battles, possibly during his fight against Ruthas. He wears a gi-type of clothing which covers only the right side of his shoulder and chest, leaving the left shoulder and chest exposed, black pants with a purple cloth on the left hip and purple boots.

Strengths:
Demaras is a powerful demon in his own right, said to be stronger than either Abaddon or Malia separately, but still weaker than Ruthas. His actions are questionable as he genuinely cares about his children and would fight anyone to protect them, but his special techniques include some kind of sealing art, as he can temporarily seal anyone away in case they would interfere with his battles.
Weaknesses:
- Due to his ambiguous nature, which can lead him to perform evil actions, Deramas is susceptible to the Devilmite Beam of Spike the Devilman, which can kill him immediately if it hits.
- Heel-Face Revolving Door: Deramas usually works for himself and can co-operate with anyone if it benefits his actions. But beware, if anyone dares to harm his children, regardless of faction, he won't hesitate to turn on whoever he's working with to show them it was a bad idea to do so.
- Energy Drain: Several of Deramas' attacks require a lot of energy, which leaves him open to a counter attack from the enemy.

Personality:
It is unknown what Deramas is after or what his objectives are. It is safe to say that he has some level of honor within him as he won't attack anyone outright and genuinely cares for his children and only goes after those whom have harmed them or who bother him the most. But even then he still proves to be quite formidable and ruthless when fought against, especially as he doesn't allow any interference in his battles...

Biography:
Almost nothing is exactly known about Demaras, other than that he was born and raised in the Demon Realm and at one point of time became the proud father of Abaddon and Malia. Years later, both Abaddon and Malia were taken by the Demon Lord Ruthas and forced into his servitude. Demaras opposed Ruthas' motives and actions and as such confronted him in order to free his children. Demaras fought well against the Demon Lord, but he was eventually defeated and presumably killed in the fight as Ruthas left him for dead and took his children into his own lair, forcing them to serve him...

Techniques:
- Full Power Energy Wave: A standard energy wave.
- Zenith Rage: A more powerful energy wave which will do heavy damage on the opponent if it hits.
- Demonic Drain: Deramas appears to vanish, with only the eyes visible. If the opponent is out of reach or has some form of defense against it, he'll reappear after a few seconds as if nothing happens, but if it hits, he'll stab the opponent with his hand and drains a bit of their life force, adding it to his own as some kind of energy drain-type technique.
- Demon Barrier: Demaras uses an energy barrier to protect himself from enemy attacks.
- Terminating Pulse: A Dual pulsing blast which Abaddon based his Demonic Pulse attack on.
- Demonic Aura: Demaras creates a temporal aura around himself which will hurt the opponent whenever they try to get close for physical attacks. This aura dissipates after some time.
- Agitating Strike: Generating an energy sphere in each hand, Demaras combines them and fires them as a single large energy sphere to his target which deals great damage on contact.
- Family Ties: A team attack where Abaddon and Malia add their own energy in their father's Zenith Rage attack, making it stronger and deals more damage.
- Demonic Portal: Demaras summons a mirror-like portal which summons a few energy blasts before dissipating, which can be seen as a method for Demaras to temporarily add more firepower to his attacks or to keep the opponent under pressure.
- Speed Strike: A rapid assault of an open-handed gut punch, backwards kick and an elbow strike.
- Demonic Corruption: Deramas appears to vanish, with only the eyes visible. If the opponent is out of reach or has some form of defense against it, he'll reappear after a few seconds as if nothing happens, but if it hits, Demaras extracts a bit of the opponent's life force, manifesting it in a small sphere, adds his own demonic essence into it to 'corrupt' it, before sending the corrupted sphere back into the opponent, before using a telekinetic command to detonate the sphere, causing a lot of damage on the opponent.
- Instant Carnage: A powerful energy wave fired from his body, presumably from the eyes considering the way he fires the attack.
- 'Gotcha!': Demaras' grabbing move.
- Vengeful Grip: Demaras charges and grabs his opponent before delivering a gut punch while holding them, after which he uses a backwards kick to send them flying.
- 'Stay Put!': Demaras charges and grabs his opponent before smashing them against a nearby wall and delivering a gut punch for good measure, usually used whenever he doesn't want anyone to interfere with his cause or missions.
- Drastic Counter: A counter where Demaras first blocks an attack and uses his 'Gotcha!' grabbing move, before delivering several kicks, an elbow strike, a gut punch and finally an uppercut.
- Corrupted Seal: This technique is not exactly an offensive move per say as it doesn't do any actual damage by itself. Instead it temporarily and non-fatally seals one or more individuals away for the moment in a near instant, whom can be released when Demaras wants, or when he has been either defeated or killed in combat. Which in turn can be in a way seen as a 'safety measure' to prevent others from joining in if Demaras is targeting someone specifically or simply doesn't want any interference in battle. However, this move does not work on beings stronger than himself, which includes Demon Lord Ruthas for one...
- Onward Expulsion: Demaras creates an energy mirror which moves to the target and 'shatters' in their face, the energy shards doing heavy damage. It is implied Malia based her Demonic Shards attack off of this.
- Demonic Shuriken: Demaras summons an energy shuriken which flies to his opponent. The Golden variety just travels onward and vanishes shortly, while the Purple variety acts more like a boomerang, which can make him strike his opponent twice for greater damage.
- Rapid Back-Up: Demaras summons an energy clone for a few strikes before they dissipate, used whenever he plans to prepare a more powerful attack. The golden clone uses quick and rapid hits akin to the Speed Strike for a rapid combo, while the purple clone is a more heavy hitter, using moves akin to the Vengeful Grip.
- Pointed Assault: A team attack where Deramas fires a purple finger beam, flanked by golden finger beams from his children Abaddon and Malia.
- Invocation: A power-up technique where Deramas ascends into his Phantom form

Phantom Deramas:
Phantom Deramas looks physically unchanged, save for the blood-red eyes, however the main change lies within the surrounding area. Due to this Invocation power-up technique, the background area, no matter what location Deramas is in at the time, takes on a red hue, as if all other colors except red have been removed. The red hue on the background remains active until Deramas turns back to normal or he has been defeated. Another thing to note is that he gains some new techniques and some of his old techniques also undergo some changes; for example the Demonic Shuriken now has now a red and green variety added, with the green traveling diagonally upwards and the red goes up and comes down on top of a nearby opponent. His Corrupted Seal move is now potent enough to even kill a targeted victim instantly if Deramas wants to. But while this form does give Deramas a significant power increase, it gradually chips away at his health...

- Double Slice: Phantom Deramas swings his arms up and down, creating two forward moving energy slashes which can cut an unsuspecting target. While this move is quick to execute, it does leave Deramas open if the opponent avoids it.
- Blinded Strike: Phantom Deramas appears to vanish, with only the eyes visible, apparently teleporting all around the area. While this lasts for only a few seconds and he appears soon after as if nothing happened, it is still quite lethal as Phantom Deramas delivers a strike while invisible which can kill any unsuspecting opponent instantly.
- Fatal Reflection: A variation on the Onward Expulsion technique, however the energy mirror remains in place and, when shattered, will cause the shard to strike the opponent with potentially fatal consequences.
- Livid Rampage: Phantom Deramas powers up and fires a large, blue energy wave towards the opponent, inflicting a large amount of damage.
- Rough Landing: Phantom Deramas grabs the opponent to intercept and stun them, before delivering a vicious uppercut to launch them in the air, before making them land by means of a red energy wave. The resulting impact will stun the opponent, leaving them open. The downside of the move is that it requires Deramas to be either directly in front of the opponent or time the grabbing sequence right.
- Charging Cut: Phantom Deramas charges at the opponent and strikes with an open hand with his fingers curled like a claw when in front of them, leaving a cutting mark on them if hit properly.
- Does It Matter?: Phantom Deramas waves his hand upward, summoning up to 3 energy bursts from below the opponent six times on random spots around him, allowing him to potentially intercept incoming targets.
Here is the profile of Demaras, the father of Abaddon and Malia. As usual, this will be updated when more techniques and information appears.

- Most of Demaras' attacks are inspired from attacks seen with characters within the M.U.G.E.N. fighting game engine, primarily Phantom (a variation of Phantom Mizuchi), ALSIEL, Valmer Rugal, Joutenchi, Hastur, Sawaki-chan and Orochi G3.

UPDATE:
- Added new moves to his Phantom form

Nice moveset, with this much variety I'm surprised he could lose to Ruthas...
